What if I told you you could get more out of every dollar you spend on fertilizer? I'm all ears, Trevor. You feed the rumen microbes, so you get more out of every mouthful. Well, with Rhyzogreen, we feed the soil microbes and we get more out of all the nutrients in the soil. Isn't it like fifty percent of the fertilizer you put down really is in the unusable form for the plant? Life is the key or the catalyst to unlock and and liberate that. If you're spending thousands on fertilizer every year, but your soil isn't improving, there's a good chance you're leaving money on the ground. So welcome back to that ranching podcast around the kitchen Table, where you join us to talk about topics that actually matter to folks in ranching. A big topic right now, I'm sure you would agree, is fertilizer prices. We've seen fertilizer prices spike recently, but in general, fertilizer prices are always on top of people's minds. It might be for hay ground or for your forage crops you're growing. What if I told you you could get more out of every dollar you spend on fertilizer? Twain? Yeah. I'm all ears, Trevor. Well, it does really come back to working with mother nature and getting more out of what we've already got. On Riomax, always say, you know, you feed the rumen, feed feed the rumen microbes so you get more out of every mouthful. Well, with Rhyzogreen, we feed the soil microbes and we get more out of all the nutrients in the soil. So then people say, well, does that mean I can quit or eliminate or reduce fertilizer usage if I'm using Rhyzogreen? Daryl? That's a great question. If we can reduce or eliminate any fertilizer, any inputs, input costs, it's what we're trying to do. So if we're going to able to feed the microbes that unlock nutrients, this is one way we can use nutrients that are potentially tied up in our soil. Yeah, exactly. On the flip side, that doesn't mean that we can continually mine the ground until there's nothing there and hope to still grow a happy, healthy crop. If there's something missing from your soil and you've mined it totally bare, we may need to bring in different types of fertilizers to replenish the food source. Is that right? It is. You know, we often talk about the nutrients in the soil as a bank account, and Rhyzogreen helps us to unlock that bank account, make those nutrients available to the plant, not just this year's fertilizer, but the last five years, ten years. Right? There's fertilizer in a tied up form that's not plant available. And so What's the math on that again, Trevor? Isn't it like fifty percent of the fertilizer you put down really isn't in a usable, or up to fifty percent in a usable form for the plant? Right. Life is the key or the catalyst to unlock and liberate that. The first thing is let's get more out of the fertilizer and the nutrients that we already have in our soil. And secondly, let's get more out of every fertilizer dollar. And the way we do that is by feeding life in the soil. Now we've done four hundred forty seven side by side tests on how Rhyzogreen impacts rumen soil biology, and we see an average increase of fifty six percent. So while we're not sitting here telling you, Oh yeah, you can completely cut fertilizer, we are saying that the science shows that you can unlock or liberate or use more out of the fertilizer you already have in your soil. And for future, for every dollar you spend on fertilizer, you can simply get more mileage out of it. We need to remember that when you feed your soil potassium or some type of fertilizer, it doesn't automatically just go into the plant, does it? It's microbes that move nutrients from the soil into the plant. That's how even water, like it's microbes that enable that. That enable the movement of nutrients from the soil into the plant. So that is why the success or failure of your crop, of your plants, of the forages, all depends on how healthy the microbe environment is. What you've said is absolutely that's a principle that functions with or without Rhyzogreen. But when you add Rhyzogreen to that equation, now the things that mobilize nutrients are up by fifty six percent. So if you take you know, an acre of soil in the top six inches, you'll have between a thousand and two thousand pounds of soil microbes. People say, well, what does that matter? Well, just to visualize it, you know, let's say a thousand pounds. And according to our four forty seven data sets, we now see a fifty six percent increase. So we've got fifteen hundred sixty pounds of soil microbes. They're the guys that are moving your water and your nutrients into the plant. They have a life cycle, hours or days, and as they die off, they become soil organic matter, of which a certain percentage of that dead organism is going to be nitrogen or phosphorus or sodium, Boron, yeah, it's nutrients. It's nutrients. Right? And so while so many folks are worried about fertilizer and shipping around the world and all these, this price hike and stuff, which, hey, it's real. We're like, but wait, if you work with the microbes in the soil, you can unlock and get more out of what you've already got. And if you are, you know, putting fifty pounds or a hundred pounds or whatever your program is, it's still a good idea to get more out of every dollar you spend on fertilizer. It says here, if you're spending thousands on fertilizer every year, but your soil isn't improving, there's a good chance you're leaving money on the ground. Yeah. It's all there is to it. Thanks for joining us on That Ranching Podcast, and we'll see you next week.
AUDIO VERSION
On this week’s episode of That Ranching Podcast, we’re digging into a hard truth...
What if up to 50% of your fertilizer isn’t even being used, but you're still paying for it?
It’s not about adding more fertilizer… it’s about biology. Plants rely on soil microbes to unlock and move nutrients, and without them, a lot of what you’ve already paid for stays tied up in the soil.
We break down how feeding those microbes can unlock nutrients from this year—and years past—so you can start getting more out of every dollar you spend.
