Both! All Riomax® formulas include a complete protein & mineral package. Think of it as a 2-in-1 product... there's no need to supplement any additional protein or mineral with Riomax®.

One thing to note is that we do protein just a little differently... through something called Indirect Supplementation Technology (IST) instead of using direct fed protein. IST helps cows to meet their protein requirements more efficiently and saves you money. CLICK HERE to learn more about it.

For minerals, our tubs contain only 100% protected key trace minerals - no sulfates or oxides. We're passionate about getting minerals to where they need to go... that's the bloodstream!

Although it does not have to be fed all year long, it is strongly recommended. Folks who use Riomax® year-round experience the best results, return on investment, and have the lowest cost to feed.

No, our formulas above are designed to work anywhere from hot and dry Texas to the frozen parts of Northern Alberta.

This is because of something in our tubs called ForageBalancer Technology. It allows cows to self-regulate on the tub... if the forage quality is good, they will self-regulate and consume less of the tub. If the forage is not so good, they will self-regulate and consume a little more of the tub.

Funnily enough, we don't! Part of the reason ranchers love Riomax® is because it's very simple to use and doesn't require any formula changes throughout the year (except if you wanna add fly control in the summer).
